How it works

Two ways to work with Pacific Coast Surgical Solutions.

Ship supplies to your patients and let PCSS and its billing partners bill their coverage — or stock your office at wholesale on net-30. Use either, or both.

Model A · We supply the patient and bill

Patient-direct supply

You write the order and document the wound. PCSS — with its billing partners — ships a month's supply to your patient and bills the patient's coverage.

Best for

  • Dressings and kits used at home
  • Practices that don't want to stock or bill supplies
  1. 1

    Evaluate and document the wound

Record the qualifying wound and the initial evaluation: wound type; location, number and size; primary or secondary dressing; drainage; dressing type; amount used at one time; and change frequency.

  2. 2

    Use the patient-direct workflow

Patient-direct orders use a separate Equipia workflow. The access link is not available here yet. Contact PCSS for help getting access. A written order needs the beneficiary's name or MBI, the item, quantity, order date, your name or NPI, and your signature.

  3. 3

    We ship and bill

PCSS and its billing partners ship up to a month's supply to the patient and bill the patient's coverage.

  4. 4

    Refills on Medicare's clock

Refill contact happens no sooner than 30 days, and delivery no sooner than 10 days, before the current supply is expected to run out. Nothing ships automatically.

What stays with your office

  • Re-evaluate monthly — weekly for nursing-facility patients and heavily draining or infected wounds
  • Record length × width and depth at each evaluation
  • Write a new order every 3 months for each dressing, and when a dressing is added or a quantity goes up

Model B · You buy on net-30

Wholesale to your practice

Buy for your office at wholesale on net-30 and bill payers yourself where the item is billable — including skin substitutes for in-office application.

Best for

  • Procedure rooms and wound clinics
  • Skin substitutes
  • Home health and hospice agencies
  1. 1

    Pick the products

Any mix of cases, boxes and kits from any category goes on one order.

  2. 2

    Place the order

Sign in to view wholesale pricing and submit stock orders once Aubrey has countersigned your Net-30 agreement. Stock orders use items, quantities and ship-to details, never patient documents.

  3. 3

    Restocked, on terms

Product ships from stock and is invoiced to the practice on net-30.

Billing notes for Medicare

  • Dressings applied as part of a billed professional service are included in it, not separately payable
  • Skin substitutes used in a covered office application are paid to the practice as incident-to supplies in 2026
  • Confirm coding and coverage with your billing staff

Questions

How the models work in practice.

Questions about a specific order? Call (803) 422-2710.

Can we use both models?

Yes. Many practices send home supplies through the patient-direct model and stock the office at wholesale.

What does a patient-direct order need?

Patient-direct orders use a separate Equipia workflow. The access link is not available here yet. Contact PCSS for help getting access. The patient-direct workflow uses the items and quantities, patient face sheet and plan of care. The written order needs the beneficiary's name or MBI, a description of the item, quantity, order date, the practitioner's name or NPI, and signature.

How are refills handled for patient-direct supply?

Within Medicare's rules: contact about a refill no sooner than 30 days, and delivery no sooner than 10 days, before the current supply is expected to run out. Nothing ships automatically.

Can our practice bill Medicare for dressings we apply in the office?

Generally no. When a practitioner applies dressings as part of a professional service billed to Medicare, the dressings are included in that service and are not separately payable. Skin substitutes used in a covered office application are different: in 2026 Medicare pays them to the practice as incident-to supplies.
